I am running for re-election! The past four years have been a wonderful experience! I have learned a great deal, met many, many new friends and worked hard to make sure Crystal continues as a great place to live, work, worship and play. As your council representative for the past four years, I want to continue my work in our community.
I am proud of my accomplishments during my time on the Council. I have worked hard with other Council members to re-establish a Human Rights Commission (Diversity and Equity Commission); worked with neighborhood groups regarding potential development and worked hard to be the voice of residents.
Crystal is a great community and has been my home for over 29 years. My children grew up here. I love the people, neighborhoods, the parks and unique businesses.

I grew up in Davenport, Iowa. I’m the 8th child in a family of ten. I have a B.A. from the University of Iowa in communication and psychology. I earned a paralegal certificate from the Philadelphia Institute and moved to Minneapolis. I eventually made Crystal my home. I have been married to Randy for 35 years. We have two sons – Rory and Jackson.
I have been doing paralegal work in one form or another for many years. Currently I have a small consulting business concentrating on family law. I also studied graphic design, earning a AAS degree. Design is important in every application.
One of the things that makes Crystal great is that our city runs efficiently. We need leadership that is responsive to community members, uses our resources carefully and has a strong vision for Crystal’s future. I am that candidate!
I believe in participating in my community and have been involved in many ways. Currently, I am Vice President of the Crystal Historical Society and am on the Community Board of the New Hope YMCA. I believe in participating in my community and have been involved in many ways. Currently, I am Vice President of the Crystal Historical Society and am on the Community Board of the New Hope YMCA. My past volunteer involvement includes Den Leader for my son’s cub scout den; Guardian Ad Litum through Hennepin County District Court; T.A. Committee Chair – Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion school; Sunday School teacher – St. Joan of Arc Church; Steering Committee Chair – YES 281; Board Member and 5K Race Director – Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy. My focus over the years has changed, but my commitment to my community as an active volunteer has never waivered.
I have been involved in the Crystal Historical Society since its inception in 2017. Our group recently partnered with students at Fair Middle School in filling a time capsule to be installed in the lobby of the new Public Safety Building. Here's a link to the CCX News story.
